Stewart Long is Boots Skincare Scientific Advisor. For the last eight years he’s been developing the results of the latest clinical findings to create innovative skincare and haircare products for Boots.
Following degrees in biochemistry and medical cell biology, Stewart began his career carrying out medical research at Hope Hospital, Manchester. From there, he joined Unilever Research to set up testing across dental, haircare and skincare product development.
In his time at Boots, Stewart’s led the innovation research team, helping to develop new methods for testing and supporting Boots products. Plus he’s also headed up the claims innovation and product evaluation teams, who demonstrate the effectiveness of product ranges such as No7 Protect & Perfect.
As a leading expert, Stewart has a growing number of patents to his name. These include the technology within several No7 skincare products including Protect & Perfect. Stewart has been a huge contributor to the success of No7 Protect & Perfect – a product which leading dermatologist Professor Chris Griffiths revealed to the beauty press as ‘scientifically shown to improve fine wrinkles associated with photo-aged skin.
