I never seem to find the perfect shade of foundation, help!
Choosing well can give your skin a fabulously flawless look, but get it wrong and you can look mismatched and over made-up. Lisa Eldridge, No7 Celebrity Make-up Artist has some advice for choosing the right shade of foundation: “You’re going to be wearing foundation on your face, so matching the shade to the skin on the back of your hand is pointless. Instead try along the neck or jaw-line, ideally in natural light, and look for the shade that blends into your skin exactly. You want to look beautifully natural, not beautifully made-up”As well as choosing the perfect shade match, it’s important to choose a foundation suited to your skin type. As a general rule, the drier your skin, the creamier the foundation should be and avoid powdery foundations as these will only emphasis dehydration. An oilier skin type needs oil-free formulations that also contain mattifying ingredients, such as No7 Intelligent Balance Foundation. Boots offers a wide selection of foundations across our No7 and Botanics ranges in numerous shades, however if you are really struggling to find the right one for you, a safe bet is the No7 True Identity Foundation. This advanced formulation cleverly adjusts to your skin tone, plus it comes in only 3 shades making it much simpler to find the perfect shade for you.If you need more help, come and see one of our Beauty Advisors in store.
